Books for Budding Brains is kicking off its 6th year of collecting and distributing new and gently used books to children in the Siouxland community. With your help, this drive has resulted in the collection and distribution of more than 18,000 books.

Simply drop off new or gently-used children’s books, suitable for pre-school to elementary-age kids, in the “Books for Budding Brains” box located at the collection sites listed below. Together, we can develop a love of reading and learning in our area kids.

Guidelines

Please donate new or gently used children's books that pre-school through elementary-aged kids would enjoy reading. Regardless of age or title of the book, please do not donate:

  • Books with torn bindings, pages, or covers
  • Books that have writing other than a name or dedication on the front inside cover
  • Books that have excessive yellowed pages
  • Books with inappropriate content
  • Books printed prior to 1985
  • Encyclopedias
  • Magazines
  • Used activity books
